Ehrmann Commonwealth Dairy has been acquired by Lactalis Group. It’s the U.S. yogurt business of Ehrmann AG, a Bavaria, Germany-based dairy company. But the financial terms of the transaction were not revealed.
Ehrmann Commonwealth Dairy was founded in the year 2009 and employs 250 people at services in Brattleboro, Vt., and Casa Grande, Ariz. The product line of the company mainly includes yogurt and various dairy products sold under the Liebe brands and Green Mountain Creamery.
The chief executive officer of Lactalis North America, Thierry Clement said that ‘the Ehrmann acquisition is a great complement to our siggi’s and Stonyfield brands in the United States’. ‘The ability we gain with two plants of Ehrmann combined with the supremacy of our leading brands, makes sure in the U.S. the long-term growth of the Lactalis yogurt business and our ambition and commitment in the category.’
In the past two years, for Lactalis in the United States it is the fourth acquisition. The company now manages eight facilities and has over 2,400 employees in the U.S. supporting brands such as Parmalat, President, Stonyfield, Black Diamond, rondelé, Galbani, siggi’s and Karoun.
